We have a tendency to learn a great deal relatively quickly. In any endeavor you have undertaken, the jump from knowing absolutely nothing to being at least conversant, is fairly quick. Many people fall into this “jack of all trades, master of none” philosophy and mistake moderate proficiency with mastery.
